OUR FAQ’S

  • Our clients often come to us after trying other studios and wanting something different.

    They stay because they find:

    • a more considered pace

    • clear, supportive instruction

    • a welcoming, community-focused environment

    • movement that feels sustainable and aligned with their lifestyle

  • We sit somewhere in between — intentionally.

Our classes are effective and thoughtfully programmed, while also offering a sense of calm and reset. Many of our clients come not just for the physical benefits, but for how they feel when they leave.

It’s movement that fits into your life -not something that takes from it.

  • At Pilates Principles, we take a more considered approach to movement. Our classes are designed to feel calm, intentional and supportive - without the noise, or trend-pressure that can sometimes be experienced elsewhere.

We focus on quality movement, guiding you through each repertoire with precision and care so you can build a sustainable, long-term practice.

  • Not at all.

Pilates Principles is designed for real bodies and real lives. Whether you’re completely new to Pilates, returning after time away, or simply looking for a more supportive environment, our classes meet you where you are.

  • As a boutique Reformer Pilates studio, we intentionally keep class sizes smaller so our instructors can offer hands-on guidance, tailored cues and support throughout your session.

You’re never just another body in the room. However, the classes are still group classes and as such are not personalised to Individual goals.

  • Our studios in Ardross and Claremont are designed to feel calm, welcoming and energising.

We keep our class sizes small (8 pax) to ensure our classes feel more connected and a community-focused experience

Many of our clients tell us it feels like a space where they feel at home.

  • Our classes can be challenging, but not in a rushed or overwhelming way.

Rather than intensity for the sake of it, we focus on depth of movement - creating sessions that feel engaging, strengthening and supportive of your body over time.

It’s a different kind of challenge — one that prioritises how you move, not just how fast.

  • While many Reformer Pilates studios focus on fast transitions and high-intensity workouts, our approach is more refined.

    We emphasise:

    • controlled, purposeful movement

    • breath-led transitions

    • alignment and technique

    • a steady, considered pace

The result is a class that feels both grounding and effective - without the need to rush.

about the studio

  • To secure your spot in class, all bookings must be made online. New clients can create an account with Momence via the 'Book a Class' section on our website or through the Momence app, available for free on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Please manage all bookings and related activities through Momence and/or the app for a seamless experience. Please note, we’re unable to book you into a class manually via email or SMS.

  • For cancellations, use the Momence app or web browser version and ensure your cancellation is submitted at least 4 hours before the class starts, allowing others to book in.

Please note that cancellations are not accepted through phone calls, texts, emails, or social media.

  • Bring a water bottle, small towel (optional), grip socks (available in studio if needed), and wear clothing that allows for unrestricted movement. Most importantly, bring yourself.

To ensure a seamless experience for everyone, arrivals more than 5 minutes late may result in a class forfeit. Late entry can be disruptive to the flow of the class and impacts the experience of others already moving, and may also mean you miss important warm-up and safety cues provided at the beginning of class.

  • Not at all! our instructors will guide you in setting up your Reformer and familiarising yourself with the studio and policies. ‘The Principles’ class is perfect for beginners and serves as our Foundation/Fundamentals class.

  • Our Instructors can adapt exercises to accommodate some physical restrictions and injuries.

Please inform the instructor of any concerns before class. If you have a pre-existing condition, seek advice from a medical practitioner to determine if Pilates is right for you and please contact hello@pilatesprinciples.com.au ahead of booking a class.

Note that our classes are group sessions; for personalised attention, consider a private 1:1 class.

We completely understand that life with little ones can be unpredictable, however children are not able to attend or observe classes. This ensures the safety of everyone in the room and allows each client to fully settle into their practice, without distraction.

After your first trimester, we require a letter from your healthcare provider confirming you’re cleared to continue attending Pilates. This helps us ensure we’re supporting you safely and appropriately.
